
Yoga Facilitator
I provide one-on-one and group yoga sessions. During these sessions you will be able to deeply relax and become aware of your body and the physical sensations in the body. The purpose of these sessions are to deeply connect to, and cultivate a practice of simply "being" without "doing".
My teaching style is focused on the principle of Hatha, "Ha" being active energy and "Tha" being calm energy. A typical session will entail seated breathing and stretching. Activating the parasympathetic nervous system through tapping and gentle face and neck self-massaging. Followed by some warm-up free movement and then strong standing poses. Mirroring the interplay between the inner masculine and feminine energy. Such as "goddess pose" followed by "warrior pose". Supported child helps to open the hips and melt the heart. While supported fish pose opens the chest and allows for deep breathing.
I enjoy building a session around a specific theme for example, the chakras, elements, a specific pose or specific physical or emotional benefit. Incorporating different types of music and even adding the singing bowl or hand pan during relaxation.
At the Valley Wellness Centre we have become more than just people practicing yoga together, we cultivate the inclusive community that yoga was intended to be.
